What’s been happening:

After graduating from Penn State with a BS Degree in Forestry in 1970, I immediately continued my education by getting a MS Degree in Forest Management from the Univ. of Washington in Seattle. I subsequently went on active duty as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and spent three years with the 82nd Engineer Battalion in Bamberg, Germany. I left active duty in 1976 and got my Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics License and Commercial Pilot License from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After a short stint with the U.S. Forest Service on the Clearwater National Forest in Idaho I decided that I was better suited for private industry, so I took an entry-level forestry job with Deltic Farm and Timber Co. in El Dorado, Arkansas. I plan to retire from Deltic in 2010 after 32 years of service. In 1998 I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years in the Army Reserve. I missed combat in Vietnam by a day or two but spent a year in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. I married my wife, Sue, upon returning from Desert Storm in 1991 and we plan to build a house and retire on Greers Ferry Lake near Heber Springs, Arkansas in a few years. My main hobbies have been gardening, Boy Scouts, several professional forestry organizations and I'm just about finished building a tube and fabric taildragger "Kitfox" airplane.
